Memphis International Airport was named the No. 1 air cargo airport in the world for the 16th consecutive year by the Airports Council International.

According to preliminary rankings released by ACI, Memphis International Airport handled 3,840,574 tons of cargo during 2007, an increase of 4 percent over the 3,692,205 tons of cargo handled during 2006.

Memphis maintained its lead over the Hong Kong airport, which handled 3,772,673 tons during 2007 payday loans.

The Memphis airport also received the highest overall score among airports in North America, in the fourth annual Air Cargo Excellence Survey conducted by Air Cargo World Magazine.

This is the second time in three years that Memphis International has received this accolade.
