Houston companies report results

Swift Energy Co., Comsys IT Partners and Natural Resource Partners LP reported fourth quarter and annual results Thursday, while U.S. Dataworks Inc. reported third-quarter figures.

  • Swift Energy Co. reported net income from continuing operations for the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, 2007 of $52.7 million, or $1.71 a share, on revenue of $196.4 million, compared with net income of $34.3 million, or $1.13 a share, on revenue of $144.6 million in the fourth quarter of 2006.

Houston-based Swift (NYSE: SFY) said its fourth quarter and full-year results were reported on a continuing operations basis due to the sale in December of most of its New Zealand operations, which resulted in a $131 million loss.

Analysts polled by Thomson Financial expected Swift to report net income from continuing operations of $1.64 a share.

For 2007 as a whole, net income was $152.6 million, or $4.98 a share, on revenue of $654.1 million, compared with net income of $151.1 million, or $5.03 a share, on revenue of $550.8 million in 2006.

  • IT staffing and consulting services provider Comsys IT Partners reported net income for the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, 2007 of $8.7 million, or 43 cents a share, on revenue of $183.3 million, compared with net income of $5.2 million, or 26 cents per share, on revenue of $184.7 million in the fourth quarter of 2006.

Earnings per share were in line in analysts’ expectations fast cash advance loan.

For the whole of 2007, Houston-based Comsys (NASDAQ: CITP) reported net income of $33.3 million, or $1.66 a share, on revenue of $743.3 million, compared with net income of $21 million, or $1.10 a share, on revenue of $736.6 million in 2006.

  • Coal mine operator Natural Resource Partners posted net income of $22.1 million, or 35 cents a share, on revenue of $57.3 million for the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, 2007, compared with net income of $19.3 million, or 38 cents a share, on revenue of $41.7 million in the same period last year.

Analysts expected earnings of 36 cents a share for the quarter.

For the whole of 2007, Houston-based NRP (NYSE: NRP) posted net income of $102.5 million, or $1.26 a share, on revenue of $215 million, compared with net income of $102.1 million, or $1.74 a share, on revenue of $170.7 million in 2006.

The company said its mines produced 15.4 billion tons of coal in fourth quarter 2007, up from 11.9 billion tons in the same quarter last year.

  • Payment processing software maker US Dataworks (AMEX: UDW) reported a net loss of $5.5 million, or 17 cents per share, on revenue of $1.5 million, for its third quarter ending Dec. 31, 2007, compared with a loss of $321,000, or 1 cent per share, on revenue of $1.7 million in the same same period last year.
